Star Lake from Night Owl Quilting

Barb brought this Star Lake quilt for some quilting attention.  The pattern is from The Blanket Statement and this is the queen sized version.

Both Barb and I loved the Tickle pantograph which added some interest and movement to the large expanses of solid fabrics.  We used a medium green thread that didn't quite blend in to any of the fabrics.

The floral backing was a bit of surprise when I saw it in the bag, but it adds a different personality to the whole quilt.

Star Pop from Night Owl Quilting

Bridy made this king size quilt using the Reading Nook collection by Sarah watts for Ruby Star.  The pattern is called Star Pop from Quilty Love.

Bridy chose the Tickle pantograph which adds some nice movement over the whole quilt top.  Bridy treated herself to yards and yards of the multicolored Starry print for her backing, and I think it was worth the effort of tracking it down and piecing it!

Bridy also worked hard to get all the directional prints headed the same way, which meant altering some of the cutting directions.

I was told at 106" wide, even ...

Through My Window from Night Owl Quilting

Things have been pretty quiet here on the blog this summer.  I have been doing some quilting but enjoying lots of time outside instead of on my computer so I haven't been sharing what I have been up to.  On the rainy day I decided it was time that I started to get caught up!

Becky brought this pretty throw sized "Through My Window" quilt from Busy Hands quilting.  She bought this as a kit from Connecting Threads.  It s a gift for her niece who graduated this year.

Becky chose the Tickle pantograph and I love the movement ...

Mod Melons from Night Owl Quilting

This fun summer quilt belongs to Amy.  Amy and I are both participating in a Queen Bee Block Swap this year.  Amy was the Queen in February, which means she got to select a block and all the participants made her two blocks so she could put this fabulous top together.

The block pattern is a free one from Suzy Quilts called Mod Melons. Amy requested a low volume background and a range of watermelon colors.  She got such and interesting mix.  These blocks were fast and fun to make so I know many of us sent an extra or ...

Reneta's Home Quarter Queen Size Quilt from Night Owl Quilting

Reneta made this spectacular Highway 10 Designs Home Quarter Quilt.  She had a fabulous bundle of Moda's Grand Canal by Kate Spain languishing on a shelf and decided to put it to very good use.

Reneta used 36 fat quarters to make this generously sized Queen that measures 101" x  101"

We decided on the Tickle pantograph in a shiny turquoise Magnifico thread.

I'm glad I was able to get some good photos of this quilt, but it wasn't easy!  Most of my day was spent battling the prairie wind.

The Home Quarter pattern is available in ...
